Union: Share of imported cheeses in shops increased almost to half

Still more cheeses on shelves of Czech shops come from abroad; their share grows every year and it is already almost half. From January to November last year, 68.000 tons of cheese were imported in the country, roughly by fifth more than in the same period year before the last. An executive director of the Bohemian-Moravian Dairy Industry Union Michal Němec said it to ČTK. A prevailing among imported cheese are cheeses of Edam type, they are imported mostly from Germany and Poland. Although data over the whole year are not disposable yet, always indicates that the domestic cheese consumption slightly increased after a slight year-on-year fall in year before the last one. Apparently, the increase in imports replaced a slight decrease in Czech cheese production.

Price novel could help farmers in fight for milk prices

An amendment of act on prices and the law on significant market power, which come in force on the 1st of February, could help farmers in a fight with low milk buy-out prices. They should enable a more effective control of trade chains. A chairman of the parliamentary agricultural committee Jan Hajda (ČSSD) pointed it out today within negotiation of a petition in which farmers require keeping the law on prices and the law on protection of competition. Otherwise, according to farmers, there is a threat of a liquidation of milk and milk product production.

Applications for subsidies from Operational Program Fishery for other measures will be possible to submit in frame of 5th round in February 2010

An announcement of term of reception of Applications for subsidies from OP Fishery for the measure 3.1. the intention a), and 3.3. the intention b) in frame of the 5th round, i.e. 18.2. – 8.3.2010. In frame of the fifth round of the Operational Program Fishery, applicants will be able to submit also applications for subsidies for projects in the measure 3.1. Common activities, the intention a) Improvement of special knowledge of employees in the branch fishery, and the measure 3.3. Support and development of new markets and promotional campaign, the intention b) Promotion of products recognized according to regulation of the Council (EC) No. 510/2006.

People asked for subsidies 485 millions from program Green to savings last year

People asked for subsidies 485 millions from the state program Green to savings last year. Over 3100 people sent the applications. They showed the biggest interest in subsidies for solar panels. A director of the State Environment Fund (SFŽP) Petr Štěpánek told it at an exhibition Infotherma 2010 in Ostrava. People submitted the most application in the last quarter when the number was almost six times bigger than up to September. While till the end of September about 440 people asked for the subsidies in total height 64,3 million crowns, till the end of December it was 3118 people.
