Meat-combine in Klatovy ends, 160 people will be without work

A meat-combine in Klatovy near Šumava, the second biggest meat processing enterprise in the region Pilsen, ends. All more than one hundred and sixty employees got dismissal. “The firm terminates its operation to the 28th of February and will release 161 employees”, a directress of the employment agency in Klatovy, Marie Bučková, confirmed to Právo. In her opinion, the reason is financial disputes between a building owner and a tenant. Právo has not succeeded in getting anybody from management of the firm yet.

Ministry of Environment: We do not want to cut trees in national parks

A publication Forest management in Czech national parks (in Czech) was issued. “Forests are a dominant vegetation system in all our national parkas. Their state reflects not only local natural conditions and a general state of environment but also an influence of forest management in recent past. Our four parks are considerably different in these characteristics, so, standpoints for determination of forest management principles can not be completely the same for all four.”

More money has to go in ecological agriculture, experts say

Authors of a report ordered by the European Commission state that if farmers should provide “green” public estates and services, the budget of EU common agricultural policy will have to be increased and also it will be necessary to tighten requirements on whose base farmers get the Union endowment. A wide-ranging study elaborated by the Institute for European Environmental policy to order of the European Commission investigates a way how to use the conception of public estates on agriculture.

Prices on Commodity exchange stagnate, also owing to calamities in transportation

Frosty weather with heavy snowfall on most territory of the central Europe caused a price stagnation in most of agricultural commodities on the Commodity exchange. Mainly large truck go for purchases and when snow calamities are on roads, it is traded less, a general secretary of the exchange Karel Zezula said to ČTK. While the first this year´s séance of stockbrokers two weeks ago brought a slight revitalization of trade and increase in prices on average by five percents, now the differences move on average by two percents. Rye even cheapened slightly. According to Zezula it does not mean that there is not interest in the commodities. Rather, purchasers wait for a thaw.
