Meanwhile, EU will not help cereals growers who have overfull stores

The European Union will not probably support cereals growers for the present who fight with low prices and excessive reserves. An extraordinary help is promoted by France which will be likely joined by some other states. However, the European Union usually hesitates with providing similar aids. Czech deputy minister of agriculture Stanislav Kozák said it to journalists today. “The problem is that the European Commission will not want to open other advantages”, he told. Cereals growers got into the current problems above all owing to a rich crop in last years; They have full stores and thereby prices on the market decrease.

Milk price is still under production costs

Farmers from the region Písek do not except their participation in protests for higher buy-out prices. The milk buy-out price is still disproportionately low and therefore we are going to join the protests. Farmers from the region Písek say that. “When the protests take place, we certainly join them. We participate always in them when the Agrarian Chamber of the CR organizes them”, Petr Hubáček, a chairman of the Agricultural-trade cooperative Máj Kestřany, told. “The milk buy-out price moves between 7.30 - 7.50 crowns whereas costs for production of one liter are 8.50”, he explained.

Pilsen region is going to support mainly young bee-keepers with sum 1.5 mil. CZK this year

The region Pilsen will support this year for the first time mainly starting bee-keepers. It has earmarked 1.5 million crowns for purchases and renewal of beehives. It counts with the same sum also in next years. Applications for more than 3.3 million crowns have already came and other will be received till the end of February. It was presented by a regional councilman Petr Smutný (ČSSD) for ČTK. “This year, we want to more support young bee-keepers to whom we have already promised it. The conditions of support state that everybody can ask for the support ones in three years, so the end we will satisfy next year”, he added.

China did not liquidate milk with melamin

According to the Associated Press, Chinese authorities gave an order to withdraw more than 170 tonnes of dry milk containing an industrial chemicals melamin. Two dairy-works in a north region Ningxia were closed. It was presented by newspapers China Daily. The release states that the government has already withhold 72 tonnes of dry milk, however, still a remaining contaminated milk is wanted. The Ningxia Tiantian Dairy Co. sold it to five companies in the neighbouring region.
