Closure of Madeta in Strakonice was postponed again

A closure of Strakonice affiliated branch of Madeta was postponed again, despite the fact, evidently, it will not avoid it in the future. Madeta has endeavoured to safe the enterprise for two years but market conditions are against it. It was said by a spokeswoman of the biggest Czech milk processor, Barbora Daňková. According to her, the affiliated branch is loss-making and its perspectives are not too good. Nor an attempt for a sale of the Strakonice enterprise to a longtime Libanese business partner Abed Tabar was not successful. However, a term of closure of the affiliated branch has not been known yet. The firm employees received notices to the end of February.

State distributes forests

It is dealt with one of the most expensive competition in the Czech Republic history. 15 billion are in play, and above all a question whether somebody does not want to properly bleed one white the state enterprise Lesy ČR. It is dealt with future of twenty percents of the republic territory; it touches the national wealthy and places which are an rest oasis for us. The announced commission invokes huge passions among experts. Representatives of Lesy ČR asserts that the way how the commission is set will finally stop almost twenty years long forest management not providing an easy survey, about which many experts declare that tens of billions crowns disappeared in pockets of private firms in tunnels and non-transparent businesses, and will get the state enterprise economy in guaranteed profit.

Long winter will probably delay spring works on fields

This year´s long and hard winter will probably delay spring works on fields. Representatives the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agrarian Chamber agreed on it in answer to a question of ČTK. While year before the last farmers started to sow spring crop-plants already at February end and last year in the second half of March, this year the president of Agrarian Chamber Jan Veleba expects the start of spring sowing at first at the beginning of April. “The current form of climatic conditions represents a problem for agricultural practice”, Petr Vorlíček, a spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture, said to ČTK.

Unexpected demand from China

Regarding the fact that China does not keep at disposition quality malting barley, it purchase 1.7 - 2.0 mil. tonnes from abroad. Besids Canada, a supplier is above all Australia, owing to low transport costs. However, Australia as a malting barley exporter failed this year. Australian farmers scraped on nitrogen in the same way as their colleagues in other countries. In consequence of that, in spite of high yields it was achieved an extremely low protein content (only 7 - 9 %).
