Growth and employment are crucial for agriculture policy reform, Spaniard say

Economic growth, creation of new job opportunities and sustainability in the agricultural sector are, according to Spaniard, the main aims of a planned reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (SZP). Agriculture cost the Union 50 billion Euro yearly and within a new financial frame after 2013 the sector has to be reformed. They counted on a substantially higher interest in this crop-plant.

ACH: Water has flooded minimally 12 000 hectares of agricultural land

Flooded rivers in Morava and Silesia has flooded minimally 12 000 hectares of agricultural land, Jan Záhorka from the Agrarian Chamber said to ČTK today. Also some farm buildings, for example feeds stores or stables, are under water. The statement from today´s morning is not final because data from South-Moravian region, where water further floods other areas, are not disposable yet. For example, according to Zátopka, in the region Opava and Ostrava 1650 hectares in total have been flooded, in the region Frýdek-Místek 2013 hectares. Olomouc region reports over 3000 hectares of flooded fields, 2800 hectares is under water in the middle part of the river Morava in Hodonín region.
