Poultry in EU have certain restrictions

Trading among the member states is relatively simple because all products of animal production, i.e. also poultry and poultry meat, have to conform to conditions given by the EU veterinary legislative. A similar situation is in case of products from non-member states. The meeting of requirements of these conditions is checked on border veterinary stations in outside EU borders. Moreover, it can be stated that animal products from third countries can be imported into the EU only if the sending third country is registered in a list of third countries from which the import of the given product is allowed, and the premises from which the product was sent is approved for such an import.

Height of growth influence optimal use of pasture

For an optimal use of grazing growth, its accessibility for grazing animals and amount of leaves on plants creating the growth are important. If the grazing growth is high so that is easily accessible for fattened meat cattle, the total time of grazing shortens and a smaller area of pasture is needed for fattening. These are results of American and New Zealand research participated in by experts from American Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and New Zealand DairyNZ.
