Treatment is not prevention

This year as well as last year, a treatment application of anti-parasitic pharmaceuticals is being prepared for wild game. However, it is necessary to realize that it is dealt with a treatment of really endangered animals in concrete contaminated localities, hunting grounds, that it is not dealt with prevention. It is well known that wild game, in this case fair game, suffer from various parasitic diseases which make their life harder. Because in our environment, so, in the nature, big predators are missing, it is up to huntsmen to “solve” this situation.

A season of farmer market, which changed people approach to content of refrigerators and stomachs, finishes. The Czech revealed a phenomenon which is a common matter in the world. How our markets do differ from for example Viennese ones? Markets in Vienna have a deepen tradition, of course. Such as these domestic ones could have had if forty years of communism had not damaged it. In this way, they had a modern first appearance in one this year´s March Saturday in “Kulaťák” in Dejvice. Who were there, perhaps will not forget that day. A neatstalls with pilled up fresh vegetable, sausages, cheeses; beautiful fresh foods in siege of singular crowds of people.

Firms can farther use mark Klasa secure

The Industrial Property Office (ÚPV) refused a request of creators of national quality mark Klasa on Monday who wonted to declare the mark as invalid. They claimed that they had never given agreement to use of the mark on packages. TV Nova introduced it on Monday. The Ministry of Agriculture, which enables to selected producers to use the mark, asserts that it have all rights for it. The state had invested tens of million crowns for its promotion. The aim of the campaign was above all to convince customers to buy foods of Czech production.

Concerns against genetically modified potatoes

Large chips and French fries producers expressed themselves in the vast majority against use of new genetically modified potatoes which should be determined for food production. It was shown by a public inquiry of Greenpeace among large European enterprises processing potatoes, like for example Burger King, McDonald's, Lorenz Snack-World and Nordsee. At beginning of March the European Commission approved growing of genetically modified potatoes Amflora which are processed industrially now. A producer BASF announced that it is going to ask for an approval of other two varieties of genetically modified potatoes this year.
