Rainbow: Fuksa advocates opposite sale model than LČR wanted

A way of wood sale of Lesy ČR from 2012, which will be again tabled before the government by the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa (ODS), is completely different from a model chosen by the state enterprise itself two years ago. ČTK was informed on it by Hnutí Duha (Movement Rainbow). Lesy ČR (LČR) indicated information of Hnutí Duhy as distorted and purposely extracted from context. The Ministry of Agriculture does not agree with the ecologists´ argument, too. “A basic principle of our conception is an open and transparent competition - to commission those who offer better conditions to the state, and subsequent hard control of abidance by rules, contracts and moving of wood in forests” a spokeswoman Tereza Dvořáčková said to ČTK.

Farmers want same contributions like other Union states have

A battle over billions for our farmers becomes tough. The Czechs who together with other novices in the EU fight for even subsidies for all countries of the Union most probably definitely lost an important ally - Germany. At least the president of Agrarian Chamber of the ČR Jan Veleba indicates it. He negotiated with a chief of the German Farmers Union, Gerd Sonnleitner in frame of Berlin trade fair Grüne Woche last week. And despite the fact that apart from that their relations are very friendly, they did not part in good mood this time. German farmers (and together with them also politicians) are not going to step back either by an inch.

Government refused again plan of timber harvesting in giant property of Lesy ČR

The government, today for the second time, withdrew from negotiation a decision on conception which should determine a way of management in the state enterprise Lesy České republiky for next ten years. “The material will be completed with some other regulations and standpoints of the Office for the Protection of Competition”, the premier Petr Nečas told at a briefing after a government meeting. Nevertheless, the material was withdrawn from the government already a week ago. “The premier requires a completion of data about consumption basket of forestry works from the Statistic Office; also a length of contracts was discussed. However, the fundamental of conception was not doubted”, the Minister of Agriculture and the submitter of the proposal Ivan Fuksa said to the daily Aktuálně.cz that time.

Senate passed amendment enabling conservation of Old Kladruby horse

The Senate supported an amendment of breeding law today which will enable to conserve the breed of Old Kladruby horse. The technical amendment is connected with a transformation of National Stud in Kladruby nad Labem into an allowance organisation. Till now, the only state enterprise National Stud in Kladruby nad Labem have had the right to govern a breeding book of Old Kladruby horse. But, the government changed it into the allowance organisation in May last year because of a chance to draw subsidies from the European Union. So, the amendment will enable a government of the breeding book to the succession subject. The National Stud in Kladruby nad Labem is the oldest large stud in the world; in April this year it will have been 432 years since its foundation.
