Support of Czech farming is beneficial to chicken breeding

Production of Czech chicken is decreasing at present. Also the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa made certain of that within his today´s visit of the CULS Farm Estate in Lány. It had still in 2008 its own broiler breeding; they were slaughtered and processes directly on the farm. Owing to a significant decrease of prices and vice versa a high increase of costs for feeds, the fattening farms had to be closed. At present, only chicken slaughter works on, however, it decreases, too.

Fuksa wants no more to give Lesy ČR shares on Change

The Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa from ODS backed out of an intention to give five percents of shares of the state enterprise Lesy ČR on Change, meanwhile. He stated it in an interview for Saturday´s Lidové noviny. Nevertheless, the minister wants to transform this state enterprise into a joint-stock company and in form of dividends to gain one to two billion crowns yearly for the state treasury. Now, according to him, a preparation of five-year public commission from 2012 for forest works culminates. It should be announced in April. Also an evaluation position of the general director of Lesy Svatopluk Sýkora depends on successful management of the tender.

EU Law Court impugns ban of corn MON810 growing

The Advocate-General of the EU Law Court has recently impugned statutory prerequisites for the ban of growing of genetically modified corn of the line MON810 in France. The ban of genetically modified corn of the line MON810 in France is endangered - the Advocate-General at the EU Law Court has impugned the statutory prerequisites of the ban. In his opinion the French reasoned the ban by an outdated regulation. According to the Advocate-General for MON810 only the regulation No. 1829/2003 on genetically modified foods and feeds holds.

How to recognize high-quality foods?

The offer of foods is wide, however, how to recognize food which does not reminds rather a chemical product? In a shop you can have a problem to orientate yourselves in small legends, in misleading marking, in attractive packages. To some measure, certificates given to foods meeting certain conditions can help you. What such certificates mean and what you can expect from foods which have them?
