CTI revealed inadequacies in part of shops at exhibition Flora Olomouc

More than a half of sellers, who were checked by employees of the Czech Trade Inspection (CTI) at the international flower exhibition Flora Olomouc at the turn of April and May, offended. For example, they had not informed customers properly about product prices. The inspectors collected in fines 17 200 crowns at the exhibition. A COI spokeswoman Miloslava Fléglová informed ČTK about it today. The management of Výstaviště Flora, the exhibition organizer, stated to the inspection results that it is nor responsible for observance of the rules in stalls.

Chamber of Deputies passed introduction of certificate for bio-fuels

The Chamber of Deputies passed a government amendment today according to which fuel sellers, bio-fuels distributors and growers will have to indentify themselves by a certificate that criteria of sustainability were satisfied during production and transport of bio-component. They consist in that less emissions of carbon dioxide were developed from use of sold fuel than by oil and petrol burning, even if emissions released in the atmosphere within its production and distribution. The amendment of law on the atmosphere has now aimed in the Senate.

Czech Republic work actively in Food and Agriculture Organization of UNO

Joining of the Czech Republic in supreme bodies of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UNO is much bigger at present than in foregoing years. We take in this international organization, as one of few new EU member countries, influential and efficient position. At the May beginning, a meeting of the Czech Committee for Cooperation with FAO at the Ministry of Agriculture in Prague where its chairman - the Deputy Minister Juraj Chmiel stated: “This year´s FAO activities I consider as important regarding to changes which should bring a fundamental turning in activity of this institution.

Amendment of announcement about non-alcoholic beverages, beer, spirits and other kinds of foods

Mainly the area of non-alcoholic beverages, beer and spirits is governed by an amendment of announcement which came in force on the 1st of May, 2011. For example it contains a new classification of beer groups and adjusts a use of term “old” in spirits. The Ministry of Agriculture wanted by the novelization among others to reflect new procedures in production of foods mentioned in this regulation. “The most significant changes happen in the area of beer production; the announcement contains a new classification of beer groups”.
