Potato crop is good. Price low

Potatoes like a fist or two. Even such could be dug on small and big fields in Slovacko. Obviously, they will keep longer thanks to weaker rainfalls in last weeks of their growth. Growers of so popular food rub their hands this year. Whole colonies of gardeners in Slovácko could make certain of how favourable influence this year´s weather had on bulky potato bulbs. “Amount of potatoes was not huge this year. It is a pity that some of them were smaller”, one of growers from Prušánky informed.

Farmers are claiming land on which Dillí is built

A group of Indian farmers bring a suit against Indian government for that British colonial government usurped land of their predecessors on which it built the city Dillí hundred years ago. As news server BBS news wrote, farmers claim that the most significant government buildings including the Parliament, President Palace and the Supreme Court or the Main Military Monument were constructed on their fields by than British rules of India who also destroyed their hoses. According to the suit, most families did not get any compensation for the land and since that time they have liven destitute in a village situated about 40 kilometers from Dillí. Advocates of accusers stated that they bring to account Indian government because it undertook commitments of British colonial administration after a declaration of freedom in 1947. However, if they case does not succeed, than they will reputedly consider a suit in London.

Klaus signed amendments on economy and on veterinary care

The President Václav Klaus signed an amendment of law on economy husbandry which primarily unifies a shape of so called power labels in all EU countries. At the same time he confirm with his signature an amendment of veterinary law which improves conditions for breeders and should increase safety of foods of animal origin. A president´s spokesman Radim Ochvat said it to ČTK. The law on energy husbandry takes over European direction in Czech legal regulations which for example sets a duty to introduce power and other source consumption on power labels in products. This measure should motivate a customer to buy more economical products with lower consumption.

Britain and Poland need “radical” reform of common agricultural policy

According to London and Warsaw, the Union agricultural policy needs to modernize. In its current shape it sticks too much by “obsolete practices” which are music of the past long ago. The both countries in their attitude sharply delimitate towards the biggest advocate of the current policy setting - France.
