Self-employed people and farmers will have to do paperwork. Owing to subsidies

Are you a self-employed person, a farmer or a firm owner? And do you use sometimes subsidies? Then, you should spring to attention. A stricter law on procurement is in force already for more than one month. Newly it introduces that almost any drawing lots are forbidden; interested persons in purchases of goods and services of more than one million crowns have to enter a competition, and all procurements above a half million crowns have to be published on the internet.

Bendl still requires information on problem foods from Poland

The Czech Republic should obtain information on problem foods from the Poles till Tuesday. If Warsaw does not provide them then, according to the Minister of Agriculture Petr Bendl, Prague will open again this topic at the EU level. Bendl suppose, too, that in case of a further delay the interest of Czechs in Polish products will decline which is obvious already now.

Reduced tillage protects earthworms

An influence of tillage technologies on earthworm population has been researched in multiannual ART experiments. Earthworms receive a big amount of food in a form of necrotic parts of plants. A permanent cover of soil with cultural plants means for them a stable supply of food.

Farmers in the Czech Republic plant less amount of potatoes because they often even lost on the last harvest owing to a low buy-out price. Potatoes grew on 26 450 hectares of fields last year. According to an estimation of the Central Potato-Growing Union of the CR, the acreage will be smaller by six to eight percents this year.

Minister of Agriculture Bendl: Amenity planting has to be realistic

The Czech Republic on a meeting of Council of Ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries of the European Union (EU), which took place yesterday and today in Brussels, advocate a realistic approach to amenity planting within negotiations on a reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
