Gross profit of Lesy ČR decreased by 23 per cents owing to higher salvage cutting

Gross profit of the state enterprise Lesy České Republiky (LČR) decreased by 23 per cents to4.98 milliard crowns last year. The plant accredits the decrease to a higher salvage cutting from wood engraver, wind and other disasters. Such wood is sold for significantly lower prices on the market. Other reason was a change of reserves state.

ÚKZˇUZ informs about a serious suspicion of occurrence of phyto-quarantine bacteria Xylella fastidiosa on the territory of the Czech Republic. The bacteria attacks a wide spectrum of host plants, mainly fruit and decorative plants and grapevine and causes significant economic damages. It is dealt at present with the most important phytosanitary problem in Europe.
