Madeta more than doubled profit to 371 million CZK

South-Bohemian Madeta, the biggest milk-processing firm in the country, increased consolidated profit after taxation by 121 per cents to 371.2 million crowns last year. Consolidated revenues of the company decreased by less than seven per cents to 5.25 milliard CZK. It results from an annual report of the firm published in the Collection of papers.

Ornithologists and nature conservationists clean a pond under a castle in Děčán today. They cruise the water on a boat and by the help of an anchor they get rid the bottom of broken fishing lines with which water birds entangle themselves. Mainly in swans, the injuries are often serious and the birds can even die from a breach of gullet with a fishing hook.
