After butter crisis pig meat one? Czech are crushed by cheap import, they don´t produce meat themselves
It doesn´t take much and lovers of brisket and pig meat generally will have to dig deeper into their pocket. The Czech Republic is self-sufficient in pig meat production only from 35 per cents of necessary production which can lead to the fact that pork prices will shoot up similarly as it happens with butter last year. The Agrarian Chamber warns against it.
According to police, man from Litoměřice region poisoned animals with forbidden drug
As many as eight years in prison threat to a man from a small village in Litoměřice region who, according to the police, poisoned animals in wild nature with a drug carbofuran. In a search warrant criminologists found tens of grammes of this chemical substance which is forbidden in the Czech Republic and could cause a death of almost four tens of people.
Support to European bee-keepers could increase by 50 %
Representatives of the Agricultural Committee of the European Parliament agreed on an urgent need to safe bee colonies in the EU last week. They require so that the EU support to beekeepers would be increased by a half, harmful pesticides would be forbidden, and more investments would go for development of safe pharmaceuticals for bees.
Region Plzeň will provide 2.5 million crowns for support of beekeepers this year
The region Plzeň will provide 2.5 million crowns for support of beekeeping in the region this year. The same sum distributed also the last year. The regional administrative authority has announced the programme since 2008 and since that time it has distributed about 18 million crowns among beekeepers. A regional councillor responsible for the environment and agriculture Radka Trylčová said it to ČTK.
