First vice-president of Minister of Agriculture is Ivo Hlaváč

The Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovi˙ established PhDr.Ivo Hlavá˙ in a function his first vice-president. Tá˙a Králová a spokeswoman of the Ministry of Agriculture informed on it. In her opinion Gandalovi˙ encharged Hraná˙ with leading of European affairs agenda which was managed Tomáš Doucha till this time from a position of vice-minister who was called out from this function today. However, henceforth he will work in the closest team of the minister.

ÚOHS started administrative procedure with poultry breeders

The Office for Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) decided on a start of administrative procedure with six poultry meat producers. It is dealt with companies Agrodru˙stvo Jevišovice, Agricultural cooperative Pet˙ín, Agricultural cooperative “Roštýn”, Zeva Chlístovice, Sušárna Poho˙elice and Agroprodukt (Iva˙). A reason for start of administrative procedure is a possible breach of the law on protection of competition. On the 13th of December 2006 participants of the procedure should have closed a contract on determination of a minimal sale price of slaughter poultry from the 1st of January 2007 in height of 20 CZK per kilogram.

SVS: Emphasis on monitoring of extraneous substances brings effect

According to the “Extraneous Substances Monitoring Plan for the year 2007” in overhead of the State Veterinary Administration CR (SVS) also this year samples of raw materials and food of animal production will be examined. However, Josef Duben, the spokesman of SVS stated that in comparison with the past it will be possible this year to cover even wider spectrums of residues of veterinary medicaments of industrial contaminants endangering people’s health. According to the spokesman the plan for this year counts on increase of money by about million three hundred thousand crowns. In total roughly 26 and half million crowns will be spent on monitoring of presence of disallowed substances, residues and contaminating substances. The analysis will be realized by three veterinary institutions and the Institute for State Control of Veterinary Bio-preparations and Medicaments.

Brewers got over record year

Brewers have a reason to celebrate. Almost all Czech and Moravian breweries announce that they produced more beer than last year. Some trademarks exceed the best years in the history. That all despite the fact that consumption of beer in the Czech Republic have stagnated for several years. The success of brewers is mainly thanks to an export. The total export of Czech beer should have increased last year according to estimations of the Czech Beer and Malt Association by thirteen percents. Heads of big breweries and well-known trademarks can be satisfied but also small regional producers have a reason for joy.Source: Agris, 13.01.2007
