Setuza will increase demand for rape next year
A signal for farmers should be information of the biggest domestic processor of rape seed, a join-stock company Setuza. Setuza is going to purchase as many as 600 000 ton of this commodity from the harvest 2006. Marie Logrová, a spokeswoman of the company said it on base of expression of the general manager of Setuza, František Janů.
European Parliament: Subventions for export of cattle have to be cancelled
The European Parliament promised to support a proposal which requires finishing of subvention of cattle export in third countries including the Near East. Meanwhile 375 Euro MPs signed a written declaration demanding immediate and permanent finishing of the system of export subventions discharging for cattle exported from the EU in third countries, in practice above all in slaughters in Lebanon and Egypt.
New law will change registration of farmers
Farmers will face other changes in legislative from next year. At the end of this year an amendment of act should be passed according to which agricultural production would be enlarged by other activities. Namely by growing of plants for energy use, forest management, and water management for agricultural and forest purposes. Then farmers, who work in these branches, would have to face a necessary new registration in an appropriate Trades Licensing Office.
Tropical heats detained farmers in Haná; rape and barley finish
Tropical heats from the end of last week slowed down partially harvest in Haná. Despite of many drivers work in air conditioned cockpits, high temperatures were stress not only for people but also for machines. Cereal growers finish with harvest of perennial barley and rape in Olomouc region now. Meanwhile it is harvested 13,5 percents from the total sowed acreage of all cereals. “Tropical heats slowed down the harvest a bit. Combine drivers are also people. In such heat and dust it was demanding. It was a stress for people and machines”, said a manager of Olomouc agrarian chamber Miloš Porč to journalist today.
