Survey of dam Lipno should help to growth of pike-perch population

Hydrobiologists started a wide research of Lipno reservoir which among others should map a state of pike-perch population. Millions of them breed here every year, however, only less than five per cents survive the first year.

Minister awarded young scientist from CULS

RNDr. Jaroslav Čepl, Ph.D. obtained the 1st prize in a competition Prize of the Minister of Agriculture for young scientists for 2017. The second prize was awarded to Mgr. Ondřej Polanský from the Veterinary Research Institute.

Interest of distilleries in plums increases, fruit-growers increase production

According to estimation of the Fruit-Growers Union, more than a half of plum production from Czech growers´ orchards ends in distilleries for production of alcohol. The growing interest from a side of producers of fruit brandy in plum is also the reason why acreages of plum orchards contrary to most of other fruit species don´t decrease in the Czech Republic.
