Chamber of Deputies gave chance to amendment for reduction of invasive speciesThe Chamber of Deputies gave a chance to amendment that should reduce spreading of invasive plant and animal species in the Czech Republic. It reacts to EU regulation and its task is to create a framework for measures necessary for prevention of introduction of invasive species and for regulation of those which have already spread in the ČR.

Bird flu is in other South-Bohemian localities; there will be bans

Bird flu was confirmed in other two localities in South Bohemia today. In both it was dealt with wild poultry and virus H5N8. Representatives of the State Veterinary Administration (SVS) said to ČTK today. One is on the edge of České Budějovice, the second in Hradiště near Písek.

Covid year was record-breaking for Budvar. It produces the most beer in 125 years

What a crisis? The national brewery Budějovický Budvar produced the most beer in its history last year. Record-breaking are the revenues from beer themselves. At the same time, the entire beer market will fall deeply due to the closure of gastronomy. It will lose up to four miliard crowns.

Number of fruit orchards in CR continue to decline, and new plantings are extremely low

Areas of fruit orchards in the Czech Republic continued to decline last year. They decreased by five percent to 13,344 hectares. New planting was one of the lowest in last years in 2019. Since 2011, the areas of fruit orchards decreased by 27 per cents from almost 18 200 hectars at that time. It results from the Situation and Outlook report on fruit of the Ministry of Agriculture.
