FAO: Costs for import of foods will increase by 12 per cents to record

Global costs for food import should increase by 12 per cents to record-breaking 1.715 billion USD (35.8 billion CZK) this year. This is due to a sharp rise in commodity prices and massive demand during the covidu-19 pandemic. The figure includes also transport costs.

The numbers of non-milked heifers continue to decline

Even  May data of the central register, which is managed by Czech-Moravian Breeders Association, show a continuing decline in meat heifers respectively heifers registered in the non-milked system. The decline has been going on for four years in sequence.

In 2022, the possibility of submitting application for afforestation of agricultural land will be renewed

In 2022, the receipt of applications for the establishment of a forest stand will be reopened for subsidies pursuant to Government Decree No. 185/2015 Coll., On the conditions for providing subsidies under the afforestation measures for agricultural land that was terminated in 2020.

Hackers blackmailed the world´s largest meat producer. The company bought out eleven million dollars

The world´s largest meat producer JBS paid eleven million dollars (229 million crowns) in ransom after a hacker attack on its division´s servers in the United States.

Meeting the hackers´ demand was in the interests of customer protection, the Brazilian company announced on Wednesday.
