Forests CR announced main tender

The state public enterprise Forests CR announced a tender for forests works on an acreage of about 37 percent of its areas on Friday. However, concrete conditions of selection procedures entrepreneurs will found out today when they start to withdraw relevant background papers. Firms complained about a previous tender put up for 17 percent of the Forests areas, and they denounced it as non-transparent. A spokesman of the Forests said on Friday that in offers evaluation a price will have a bigger weight now, but he did not specify anything more.

Cattle herds in South Bohemia fall constantly

A long-term decrease of pig and cattle herds in South-Bohemia region continues. In five last years the herds fell by more than one tenth to two hundred and eleven thousand cows and three hundred and fifty thousand of pigs. The cattle stop to pay off for farmers.

Dairy works Klatovy reached record sales of hard cheese last year

A historically the largest sales of hard cheese brought to the dairy works Klatovy incomes growth from 723 millions to 918 millions crowns last year. It is the best result in twelve-year history of the firm. A chairman of board of the biggest West-Bohemia milk processor, Oldřich Boháč said it to the ČTK yesterday. Also in purchase of milk the enterprise reached a record of 67,9 million litres, which is by 10,4 percent more than in the last year. At the same time the firm marked a fall of net profit by two thirds per 6,5 million crown. The fall in comparison with the last year is give, according to Boháč, by an unrepeatable sale of some trade marks in 2003.

Public performances with animals are subject to approved regulations

According to a spokesman of the State Veterinary Administration CR (SVS), Josef Duben it means in fact that an organizer of various actions with animals, for example at fairs, at jousts on horses, presentations of dogs and their training, performances of circuses, hippodromes of ponies, western performances with animals, performances of falconers, and competitions with animals is obliged to keep the Rules of animal protection in public performances and animals assemblies, which have to be authorized by the Central Commission of Animals Protection (ÚKOZ).
