EU will forbid poultry and poultry meat import from Russia due to bird flu
The European Union will forbid import of poultry and other birds and poultry products from Russia and Kazakhstan. The EU tries to prevent a transmission of bird flu from these countries. The ban is only preventive because in fact the EU does not import poultry from both countries. “The Commission asked member states to approve the ban till next Friday”, said a spokesman of the Commission. “If it will be approved, the ban would be valid from the day”, he added.
