To plant forest will pay off now

The Czech area is still more and more, year after year, grown over with forest. The reason, according to experts, is simple. Farming on agricultural land regarding to a system of agricultural subventions stops to pay off at some places and for land owners is much preferable in many cases to afforest the piece of land. Also for the afforestation it is possible to get significant dotations from both state and European funds.

Farmers from other countries of the European Union should have an easier way to Czech fields from January. If they want now to buy an agricultural of forest piece of land in the CR, the Czech state urges them to stay here at least for three years. However, it contradicts to the EU rules. From January it should be enough if they get a permanent residence in the CR and settle down. The novel proposal of exchange law will be negotiated by the government on Wednesday, said Radek Němeček from a press department of the Ministry of Finances to the ČTK. According to The EU rules they have to be the same rule for separately farming farmers from the EU, who wants to settle down and live in the CR, as for Czech state residents.

Growers from Haná harvest quality cereals despite of weather foulness

Anxiety of cereal growers from Olomouc region of a quality of this year’s harvest due to rainy weather has not been fulfilled yet. Up to now harvested cereals correspond, according to seller with cereals, to criteria of intervention purchase which the State agricultural intervention fund will open in November. Growers who have harvested in Olomouc area almost 75 % of seed acreage, still suffer from low purchase prices. A director of Olomouc agrarian chamber Miloš Porč said to journalists today that farmers from Olomouc region have already all perennial oat indoors. Also harvest of rape and spring barley is finishing. As regards the harvest of perennial wheat, farmers are on 69 % of seed acreage.
