Buy-outs of fruit are empty

Sellers and gardeners don’t remember such a small harvest, especially apples, for fifteen years. Although a price of fell apples more than doubled contrary to last year, buy-outs in south of Bohemia are empty. The situation was caused by a small crop of fruit. Owners of south-Bohemia fruit buy-outs just live evidently the worse season since 1989. The buy-out price especially of fell apples is moving about record two crowns but people offer fruit from their gardens to sellers only minimally.

Heiress Walderode wants back hundreds of pieces of land

The heiress after the count Karel des Fours Walderode, Johanna Kammerlander, wants to get back in her ownership four hundred and eight pieces of land in Jablonec region. It is dealt with a property which was confiscated to the family Walderode on base of Beneš’s decrees. These cases are solved now by a District court in Jablonec.

Moravian vine-growers are rolled by cheaper wines from abroad

Czechs started enjoying wines from an import. Wines as Portugal and Frankovka from Moravia are in little demand and often are replaced with French, Spanish abut also Chile and Australian wines. According to the Vine grower Association the domestic viticulture is under pressure of growing imports in a crisis. “An import of wine in the Czech Republic has annually increased by 28 percents, mainly it is dealt with cheap table wine for trade chains which then do not buy our wine. A result is a lack of interest in our grapes or their minimal price”, sais a chairman of the Vine-growers Association Jiří Sedlo.

Municipality Bořetice became Vilage of year 2005

The Ministry for Local Development together with the Association for renewal of countryside of the CR and the Union of towns and municipalities of the CR announced this year already the 11th year of a competition Village of year which helps to promote a renewal of countryside and at the same time it brings many examples of good practice which inspires other municipalities to realize own renewal programs. This year’s winner is the municipality Bořetice from the South-Moravian region.
