ODS wants special meeting of Parliament for shifting of restitution stop
Civic democrats will strive for calling an extraordinary meeting of the Parliament which would vote about a shift of so called a restitution stop. The relevant amendment of act the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) introduced in a half of July. Last week they tried to range to the Parliament negotiation in preference, however, were not successful with its proposal. The draft counts on that the competent persons will be able to use their restitution claims till the year 2009. Some time ago the Parliament enforces the restitution stop to the 31st December 2005.
France blocks EU proposal for liberalization of agricultural products market in WTO
The EU commissioner for trade Peter Mandelson believes that he will gain a support of France for a common proposal of countries of the European Union for a release of market with agricultural product which should be introduced at a December conference of ministries of the WTO member states in Hong Kong.
Cheese manufactory in Kruh near Jilemnice stopped production
The Cheese manufactory in Kruh near Jilemnice stopped a production in October and 30 emploees received notice. The firm lost suppliers who started to export milk in Germany. The company Müller offers them better conditions there. Today´s Deníky Bohemia writes about it. The Cheese manufactory is the biggest employer in a municipality with 500 residents. “It is bad. In the firm married couples worked often”, said a mayor Roman Kužel to the list. Workers from the Cheese manufactory will get 60 percent of their original salaries till the end of this year. The enterprise in Kruh belongs to Krkonošské sýrárny a.s. which are a part of the holding Promil.
Bird flu thwarted dragnet against black trade with songsters from nature
Measures adopted due to a risk of spreading of bird flu thwarted an intention of the Czech Environmental Inspectorate to control in details an origin of European songbirds which are traded in an exchange. The inspectors wanted to monitor exchanges at fall whether the marketed fledglings originate from breeding or whether the last-year-forbidden catching from nature continues. Bird exchanges as well as shows and races of pigeons are banned. “In paradox, we will have less work, though we count that the measures will not be valid forever”, said a vice-director of the Czech Environmental Inspectorate Jan Klapuš to the CTK.
