A restitution stop will not be probably postponed; the ČSSD and KSČM refused it on the 1st November
(ČTK) - People will be allowed to stake their remaining restitution claims obviously from now on only till the end of this year. The opposition ODS did not succeed today to enforce an amendment of act on land which was about to shift the so called restitution stop by four years, so to the 31st December 2009. Mainly representatives of ČSSD and KSČM opposed it.
Minister Zgarba: A requirement of ODS vice-chairman Bém is unbelievable arrogance
As an unbelievable arrogance Petr Zgarba considers a requirement of the ODS vice-chairman Pavel Bém so that he withdraw the function due to the fact that Land fund released 600 hectares of land to in total 24 legal entities and individuals with repurchased restitution claims. The release was put through against the Minister´s will beside others by votes of ODS representatives. The presidium of Land fund is a collective body elected by the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament. The Minister has only one vote in the nine-member presidium.
Farmers import milk to Saxon
German firms pay more to farmers; a lack of milk knocked-out the Cheese manufactory in Kruh u Jilemnice. Milk from farmers in the region ends more and more often in German firms. They pay them often more than domestic dairy works. Primarily they got the payment from German firm on time. Due to a lack of milk the Krkonošská cheese manufactory in Kruh u Jilemnice ended a couple days ago which was famous in the whole republic for its cheese of Emmenthal type. Others can follow it still. “We estimate that already about one fourth of milk draught in the region goes to Germany”, said Jiří Teplý from An Agrarian Chamber in Liberec. The fact that milk ends in Germany is according to him a fault mainly of Czech dairy works.
French Lactalis will not buy holding Promil; Alimpex is interested in it
The French milk giant Lactalis will not buy the dairy holding Promil from Nový Bydžov in Region Hradec Králové, where farmers did not supply milk due to debts since the end of September. However, a Prague trade company Alimpex Food, according to ČTK information, negotiates about an entry in Promil. Promil is the fourth biggest dairy group in the CR and has its plants in Nový Bydžov, Jičín, Dřevěnice, Kruh u Jilemnice and in Nyburk.
