Agri-coop Dolany: Apple crop decreased by tenth but quality increased

The biggest grower of apples in the country, the Agricultural cooperative Dolany in Náchod region, harvested about 5800 ton of apples this year which was in comparison with the last year and with a presumption by about a third less. However, a quality of fruit is this year significantly higher. A share of non-standard apples creates only about one fifth this year while last year it was over 55 percents. It was said by the manager of a fruit plant of the agricoop Jiří Fišer. In the whole country according to estimation the harvest of apples should be over 120 000 ton this year. In comparison with the last year it is about one third less, mainly due to spring frosts.

Alimpex Food buys outstandings of dairy work Promil from farmers

The Prague trade company Alimpex Food buys from farmers their outstandings of the indebted holding Promil in Nový Bydžov. Alimpex Food offered for the outstandings 45 percent of theit value and has already paid the first payments. Subsequently Alimpex Food is going to overrule the dairy work Promil. It was find out by the ČTK from farmers and milk producers. The farmers do not supply milk to Promil since the end of September and the holding produces in a limited extent. An owner and executive director of Alimpex Food, Milan Kincl, did not comment the situation regarding entrance of its firm in Promil.

Czech fishery has not ended fishing ponds yet due to warmer weather

A firm Czech Fishery Mariánské Lázně still continues in hauling of its ponds due to warmer weather at the area of Karlovy Vary and Ústí nad Labem regions. The fishermen have already hauled the pond Amerika in Cheb region and in these days a hauling of Lenešický pond near Louny runs. It remains still to haul two smaller ones from the total number of 12 ponds which the Czech Fishery will haul this year. Jiří Ryšavý from a trade office of the firm informed about it. Fishermen interrupetd some haulings because a higher outside temperature could influence fish. A content of oxygen in water decreases in leaking ponds and the warm can decrease more its oxydation.

Cause subsidies: EU wants back hundreds of millions

The European Commission asks so that the Czech Republic return tens millions from a fund for region renewal. The police accused eight people last Thursday, including former Ministry officers, due tu a suspicion that they had tried to rob the European Union by 229 millions determined for a renewal of Czech towns and villages by means of a Foundation for regional developmet from which the accused drained, accordintgto the police, European money for their needs. A spokeswoman of the Representation of the European Commission Catharine Sustek confirmed to the daily Aktuálně.cz that the EU will want the Czech stat to return the hundreds of millions.
