Municipalities should be subsidized by Agricultural Fund EU

Since 2007 the Ministry of Agriculture presupposes a higher financial participation of regional budgets in flood-protection measures covered in frame of the 2nd stage of the program Flood Prevention. Almost a half of financial means of the program Floods Prevention, which is administered by the Ministry of Agriculture (MZe), aims at a drainage area of the river Morava. Soon the biggest already prepared buildings started to be realized: A dry basin Žichlínek in Moravská Sázava and the first stage of flood protection of Olomouc in the river Morava. Last year at the latest for example adjustment of a weir in Hodonín will be finished which will enable an improvement of regulation of the river, and flood protection in the river Litava in Slavkov u Brna. Also a building of protection dikes in Ostrava agglomeration in the rivers Odra, Olše and Ostravice.

Constitutional Court: Kinský will not get back anything

František Odřich Kinský and other offspring of aristocratic families have definitely lost a chance to get to original hundred millions property of their families which the state confiscated them after the war by Beneš´s patents. The Constitutional Court published its decision yesterday: restitution laws can not be avoided by so called definitive action. A decisive border for replacement of confiscated property is the 25th February, 1948. It is not possible to claim what the state obtained before that date. And nothing can be changed by a possible illegality of confiscations and nationalization. The Constitutional Court decided on base of two repeals of František Oldřich Kinský against decisions of lower courts. Kinský has taken about 160 definitive legal actions for restitution of property since 2000.

Union will support end of vineyards

An overproduction of wine persists in the European Union, therefore a reduction of vineyards will be realized on itsterritory. The Union will support a reduction of vine growing by a subsidy of 450 million euros in following years, from it 350 million euros will be given to vine-growers in France, Italy and Spain. Soon 20 thousands hectares of vineyards should be destroyed in France and according to experts it is only a beginning of structural changes in this sector of European agriculture. Wine production became unprofitable in some areas of France. A cause is also permanently high wine reserves. For example in the region Bordeaux, 1,6 million hectoliters wine is in store which represents a quarter of yearly production of this vine area.

Prague took legal action against Land Fund

The capital Prague took a legal action on Thursday against validity of contracts on base of which the Land Fund (PF) of the Czech Republic transferred two pieces of land in Uhříněves to private entrepreneurs. The Chief Magistrate Pavel Bém (ODS) specified everything as a “robbery in broad daylight”. “The lots are trenched by a public utility building - a lane of southern-east part of road circuit. Therefore they were produced in conflict with the valid law”, Bém stated. According to Magistrate the land should be excluded from transfers to persons who keep claims for giving a compensatory land in frame of restitutions.
