Buy-out prices have arisen, bulls and cows are cheaper

Buy-out prices of pigs grew slightly at average this week. In comparison with the previous week farmers got more for heifers. By contrast, meat-combines paid less for slaughter bulls and cows. Also a buy-out price of potatoes decreased as the Czech Statistic Office found out in a regular weekly investigation. The pig price increased by 15 hallers to 32,54 CUK per kilogram; heifers are more expensive by 19 hallers, the price is 30,87 CZK.

About 1,4 milliard crowns go for a research in agrarian sector

The government has approved a research program for years 2007 - 2012. Expenditures for a research in the agrarian sector which includes areas of agriculture, food industry, water and forest management, and development of countryside should be about 1,44 milliard crowns. From this sum, 1,3 milliard crowns will go from public resources, i.e. from the state cash, and partly from the European Union´s funds, reported the Minister of Agriculture Jan Mládek.

Sale coops can arrange prices

The Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) revalued its original stricter standpoint and provided the Czech farmers with a new methodology which will strengthen positions of agricultural sale coops. For example, with its help they can reach more suitable contracts with trade chains and arrange maximal prices of products. A previous standpoint of the ÚOHS was rather to affect basic industry in the area of agriculture, said a head of the Office Martin Pecina.

SZPI founded out rodents in other chains, this time in Makro

Rodents and mouse dropping were found out by the State Agricultural and Food Inspection during a control in stores of the trade chain Makro in Čestlice on the Prague periphery. SPZI realized a control in Makro on base of repeated complaints of consumers, reported a representative of the Inspection Daniela Kolejková.
