Agreed reform of sugar market is good for CR; prices will decrease
A reform of sugar market on which the European Union agreed on Thursday is good for the Czech Republic, said a president of the Agrarian Chamber Jan Veleba to the ČTK. He evaluates positively mainly the fact that production limits of particular countries were not shortened areic as an original purpose supposed; and the Czech Republic has still a quota 455 000 ton of sugar. Veleba judges that domestic sugar and sugar beet industry will stay competitive despite of the de crease of sugar and beet prices.
ČSO: Buy-out prices of bulls increased slightly, heifers and cows are cheaper
Buy-out prices of bulls increased slightly at average this week. In comparison with the last week farmers realized also slightly more for potatoes. On the contrary, meat combines paid less for slaughter heifers and cows. The Czech Statistic Office (CSO) found out during its regular weekly investigation that buy-out prices of pigs fell slightly too. The price of bulls increased by four hallers to 41,35 CZK for kilogram; potatoes become more expensive by seven hallers to 2,35 CZK. The price of slaughter heifers decreased by 1,45 crowns to 29,42 CZK for kilogram and price of cows fell by 91 hallers to 26,66 CZK/kg.
Commission praises: Globalization is good for the EU
According to European Union´s new analyses, globalization increases an economic growth in the Union almost by a fifth. However, a new study of the European Union warn at the same time that a further benefit is subject to a fact that states will not try to introduce various protection measures. “Protectionism and attempts to protect jobs and branches against international competition in a longer period only decreases the economic efficiency, incomes and job opportunities”, the material reports.
Scandal due to spoiled meat in Germany; obviously it was exported also in CR
A scandal broke out due to a sale of spoiled meat in these days in Germany. A merchant from Gelsenkirchen Uwe Domenz in whose large-scale store offices confiscated 60 tons probably spoiled meat last week. Moreover, according to today´s internet issue of the daily Die Welt he alleged that he obviously supplied also foreign tradesmen including the Czech ones. He exported the meat also to Denmark, France, the Netherland and Spain.
