Draslovka negotiates with fisherman about disaster on Elbe

Representatives of Kolín enterprise Draslovka which is responsible for the escape of more cyanide in Elbe and consequential ecological disaster started today to negotiate with fishermen about a possible compensation. According to fishermen, achieving of the stocking rate in the afflicted stretch of the river Elbe cost 1,5 mil. crowns in 2005. The new achievement of stocking rate will be, however, more complicated and obviously significantly more expensive. Due to the disaster also scarcer breeds of fish died which can be replaced with larger difficulties. The ČTK was told it today by the agent of the Central-Bohemia Fishing Union Pavel Horáček.

Prague has chosen firm for salvage of part of hazardous waste

The firm A.S.A. will be in charge of the salvage of for example solvents and other chemicals, fluorescent lamps and batteries. The collection of hazardous waste has been secured in past in Prague by the company Imp-servis which now carries on a lawsuit against the municipal authority. According to Gregar, the company entered for the competition too; it finished on the third place. A time ago the municipal authority announced two competitions for a collection of hazardous waste. It is said that the firm Imp-servis ended always on the first place, but the municipal authority canceled the selective procedure. The company due to it gave in an announcement on unknown delinquent for suspicion of intrigue in selective procedure.

Ministries of Agriculture and Finances will suggest increase in direct payments for farmers

The Ministry of Agriculture CR (MZe) and the Ministry of Finances will have put to the government a proposal for increase in direct payments to Czech farmers by 800 millions of crowns. The spokesman of MZe Tomáš Loskot informed about it. “If the ministry approves the proposal, the level of the subsidies will reach 63 % of the level of subsidies paid farmers in old member states of the European Union”, the spokesman emphasized.

Hundreds of thousands fines were imposed on storage of German waste in the Czech Republic

Entrepreneurs from Šluknov and Frýdlant, who storaged in Liberec region a huge amount of waste imported from Germany, will pay fines in amount of 300 000 and 250 000 crowns. They were punished by the Czech Inspection of Environment (ČIŽP) and the fines have already become effective. The entrepreneurs have not appealed against them. Danuše Hráská, the head of department of wastes from the ČIŽP in Liberec told it. “The waste still lies in buildings in Sosnová near Česká Lípa and in Arnoltice and Černousy in Liberec region.
