The government did not resolve today on a proposal for a building of state silos for cereals

The government did not resolve today on a proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture for a building of two state silos with the total capacity 100 000 ton for storage of cereals from the intervention purchase. The government spokeswoman Lucie Orgoníková announced, that the Cabinet took cognizance of the material. According to the Ministry of Agriculture the matter should have been resolved in September. The state budget according to estimations would have to spend about 200 to 250 million crowns for this investment. The Ministry argued that a lack of available stores is complicated by the intervention purchase drawing surpluses from the market.

Poultry in entrepreneurial managements will not be allowed to be outside with exceptions

The Czech Republic due to growing cases of bird flu in Europe tightens up steps towards the infection. Since Thursday a ban on the stay of poultry in outside outlets for entrepreneurial managements will come into force; they will have had to follow it till the end of February at the latest. Since March than a ban on poultry and birds shows and markets will come into force.

European money helps to revive forest

Forest management demands a care. In frame of the forest renewal it is necessary to plant new forest stands all the time. At the same time employees of the Town forests improve the quality of environment. The joint stock company Town forests Hradec Králové is farming on 3900 hectares of stands which always were a historic town property. The Company Town forests used for two significant projects hundred-per-cent dotation from the Operational program of rural development and multifunctional agriculture from the EU funds. It prepared two projects for forestation of 3,18 and 2,36 hectares of former agricultural land.

EC enlarged restriction on raw feather import in EU

The European Commission enlarged today its restriction on raw feather import in the European Union. The embargo concerns all developing countries and will be in force till this year's June at least. The EC spokesman Philip Tod said it to journalists today. According to him the Commission afraid of bird flu spreading wants also to increase a monitoring of birds in the EU.
