Mainly prices of potatoes grew in shops, chickens did not cheapen

Prices of potatoes on counters increases already for several weeks; this week they exceeded at the all-republic average a limit of 11 crowns per kilogram. The Czech Statistic Office informs about it and compares that last year at this time potatoes were sold for average 6,76 crowns per kilogram.

Everybody defends the own, money are important

A dispute between mountains and lowlands for who is better of worse off sharpens. It is dealt with money, so with distribution of financial means in next seven years from a new European fund EAFRD. As the Minister of Agriculture Jan Mládek confirmed, this years direct payments will really reach the highest possible level negotiated with the European Union; so 65 % from what farmers in the original EU-15 will get.

CR is next to last in drawing money from European funds form resort agriculture

According to last data in drawing EU structural fund the Czech Republic lags behind other member states. It is next to last in the total scale; only Cyprus is behind us. The operational program agriculture falls in the MZe resort from which persons concerned can draw money for proposed projects from the structural funds. In many measures a demand exceeds a supply, said a vice-minister of agriculture Hana Heidlerová.

Unsatisfactory imported pig meat in British stores Tesco

Imported pig meat sold by supermarkets Tesco is processed in a way unsatisfactory to British standards. British company British Pig Industry Support Group (BPISG) warns tradesmen against sale of imported pig meat of bad quality which does not corresponds to British standards.
