Topolánek with Blair found out a common ground

A chief of main Czech opposition party ODS, Mirek Topolánek, spoke with Labourite Prime Minister, Tony Blair, in London above all on cooperation in preparation of Czech presidency in the European Union in the first half-year of 2009. Topolánek in a discussion with Czech journalists pointed with smile at intensity of his present relations with British politics: “Within three week I have met three British premiers – a former, the present and the future ones, I mean David Cameron (a head of Conservative Party).” On the eve of today’s negotiation with Blair Topolanek met his predecessor, John Major.

CR convinced EC of awarding compensations due to bird flu

The Minister of Agriculture, Jan Mládek, participated on April, 25 in Luxembourg - for Czech side a satisfactory – negotiation of the Council of EU Ministers for Agriculture and Fishing. As the spokesman of the ministry, Tomáš Loskot, repeated again, one of principal points of the meeting was discussion on novels of orders of the Council defining exceptional measures to support market to solve the Europe-wide crisis in sale of poultry meat and eggs and defining a group such afflicted countries. The novel were after a discussion of the present approved with determination of financing of compensations 50 % from the EU and 50 % from a budget of member state. At the same time the Czech Republic was ranked among countries which have a right to the compensations. The payments will be paid to entrepreneurial for not producing temporarily exceeding poultry. This possibility was chosen because of a decreased effectiveness to draw surpluses by the help of export subsidies.

Mládek found out solution in a question of “forest tenders”

According to the Minister of Agriculture Jan Mládek it is dealt with “the least bad solution” of the present situation regarding milliard commissions in state forests. The spokesman of the minister, Tomáš Loskot, reported that the Minister of Agriculture negotiated with representatives of Association of entrepreneurs in forest management at Agrarian Chamber on a starting point from a situation about selective proceedings today. Last year Forest CR split works roughly in half of areas in tenders which were not according to the law on ordering public commissions. Some forest companies criticize s selective proceeding as non-transparent. The firm CE WOOD applied to the Office for the Protection of Competition. It decided this year that tenders have to follow the law. However, he did not cancel closed contracts.

Specialized firm started to carry wastes away from Libčeves

The company Celio started today to carry away to its dump near Litvínov in Most region a half of illegal German waste from a premise of former cow-shed in Libčeves in Louny region. 111 ton of rugs and about 1000 ton of burned waste, to which German side do not indorse, should be carried away till Wednesday, said Jindřich Kauca from the firm Celio to the ČTK today. The Ministry of Finances provided 1,9 million crowns subsidy to the municipality. The mayoress in Libčeves, Vlasta Staňková, today after an agreement with the Ministry of Finances signed with the firm Celio a contract on waste disposal and its storage till the time of decision on its further disposal.
