Scientists: Let’s change management in forests
Till this year end a new forest law should be introduced to the government. Except preparations of it text which are in progress in the Ministry of Agriculture, also protectionists strive to influence the statutory text. Already last year in the autumn Movement Rainbow (Hnutí Duha) started its campaign. Now, more than 200 botanists, zoologists, foresters, ecologists, geochemists and other specialists try to invoke a public discussion over a state of Czech forests and a way of their management. Hereat, they emphasize one thing: withing forest protection only a little attention is paid to land.
Retail sellers despair. They are force out by markets.
Every large market collects its cruel tax. It brings living problems for small groceries not only in town centres but also in villages. “Large chains attract customers. People from small villages prefer to go to Znojmo and buy for fortnights in advance”, a mayor of Černín in Znojmo region, Josef Pelán, reported. A holder of a local composite goods shop, Božena Šťávová, still fights tooth and nail. “However, in surroundings shops in Rudlice and Vevčice have ceased”, he says. He does not know how to keep afloat at least village shops. “Older people die out and the young have got used to markets. “Probably, there will be no sense in keeping small shops in a village in the future”, Šťávová complained.
Since Thursday it will be again possible to organize exhibitions and markets of birds and poultry
Since Thursday it will be again possible to organize exhibitions and markets of birds and poultry kept in the CR. The Czech Republic will reduce nation-wide emergency measures since that term which had been adopted due to bird flu in a half of February. Actions with international participations will demand an approval of a regional veterinary administration, as well as tours of birds from our republic abroad. Also competitions of carrier pigeons will be opened in the CR territory. The Ministry of Agriculture also announced yesterday to the ČTK that lighter reductions will be applied also in entrepreneurial poultry breeding. “Reduction was enabled by a more favourable infection situation in member countries of the European Union and end of spring flights of migrating birds from area with unfavourable or unknown infection situation”, said the Minister of Agriculture, Jan Mládek.
