Entrepreneurs: Result of elections endangers drawing EU funds

Supply of money for years 2007 to 2013 when the EU is about to release as much as 100 milliard crowns annually for the Czech Republic, will stop after election stale male or at least slow down. Jaroslav Míl, a president of the Union of Industry and Trade said it to journalists. The biggest threat resulting from draw election results is, according to some entrepreneurs, a threat of drawing of money from the EU structural funds. Other representatives of entrepreneurs are not afraid of his risk.

MZe: Water protection against nitrates from agriculture will cost milliards

Prague, June 5 (ČTK) – According to estimations, investments in water protection against contamination with nitrates from agriculture will require roughly 3,26 milliard crowns this and next year. A part of these investments will be transferred already till 2008. First of all it is dealt with expenditures for finishing or renovation of storage capacities for barnyard manures and for adaptation and equipment of stables. The financing should be shared by European funds, like till this time, the state and in more than a half the agricultural enterprises themselves. An updated strategy of financing, so called nitrates EU regulation will be negotiated by the government on Wednesday. In years 2002 to 2007 the total investment costs for water protection against nitrates from agriculture should reach about 5,46 milliard crowns. From it roughly 2,2 milliard has been already expended in 2002 to 2005.

States spent less money on bird flu than they had promised, CR is praised

Washington, June 4 (ČTK) – States and organizations promised in January that they would spend almost two milliard dollars (44 milliard crowns) for a fight against bird flu, however, they have already spent only less than 300 million dollars (6,5 milliard crowns). It is reported by the World Bank (WB). According it only the Czech Republic, Japan and Switzerland have spent all promised money. Agency Reuters informed today about the report of the WB. Participants of donators conference agreed in January in Peking on the fact that it is necessary to make an enormous effort against the fatal virus H5N1 which since that time has spread from Asia through Europe to Africa. Mainly the black continent needs now more money. It was reported by the WB in a report for an international meeting on bird flu which will take place on the 7th July in Vienna.

Ambrozek signed public notice against mina birds

A problem of Moravian vine-growers was especially last year an enormous occurrence of mina birds which in several-thousand flocks liquidated crops of grapes. The only shooing did not help, therefore South-Bohemian region initiated issuing of a regulation which would enable their shoot in necessary cases. The new public notice was signed by the Minister of Environment Libor Ambrozek in Brno on Thursday. After publishing in the Collection of papers it will come in force from the 1st July of this year.
