Czech Republic is in threat that it will lost 1,5 milliard from EU cohesion fund

The Czech Republic is in a threat that it will lost 1,5 milliard crowns from so called fund of cohesion of the European Union determined for building of water management infrastructure. “The European Commission found lacks in a PPP model in water supply in the Czech Republic, concretely in some contracts among municipalities and operators of water supply infrastructure. It concerns 4 applicants for subsidies from the cohesion fund in 2006, concretely the water management confederation Olš e, an association of municipalities of Jihlava and Zlín region and Vír water supply for Brno area”, reported the vice-minister of environment, Tomáš Novotný.

EU enlarged embargo for import of poultry from Romania

A ban of import of poultry from Romania in the European Union has been enlarged for a whole area due to a fast spread of bird flu. Till this time it refers to three quarters of Romanian territory. Romanian veterinarians confirmed now that the disease occurred already also outside area to which protection measures referred. The veterinary service doesn’t have enough time to control from where each consignment comes.

Average wage is almost 19 thousands

Czech people recorded again a bit more money on their wage slip. According to the newest data of the Statistic Office, in the first quarter the average gross wage increased by almost seven percents. So, by more than a thousand per almost nineteen thousand crowns. However, also prices grew, so in fact Czech people are better themselves at average by about four percents. Nevertheless, there are differences between wages of employees of state administration and the entrepreneurial sphere where wage exceeded the nineteen-thousand border. State employees at average earn eighteen thousand odd of gross. “Development in non-entrepreneurial sphere takes place rather in jumps because in considerable extent it depends on governments steps”, statistics state.

Mládek managed to hand over Lesy CR in Koníček’s hands; ODS protests

The Minister of Agriculture, Jan Mládek, appointed František Koníček a new general director of the state enterprise Lesy CR on Monday evening. He is a former representative of ČSSD who was still in charge of management of Lesy CR as their deputy director. Koníček has led the state firm controlling about a half of Czech forests since this year’s February after the minister Mládek called back the foregoing head, Vladimír Blahuta. Mirek Topolánek, the president of ODS, who is charged by the President of republic to negotiate about making a new government, expressed disagreement with Koníček’s appointment. “I take this decision as a decision which was made by a minister who in fact doesn’t have full powers to make such decisions; however, he can do it, so he did it”, Topolánek said. “If we succeed to make a government, than, we will try to change it, of course”, he added.
