New government will resolve upon support of biofuels, Mládek suggests
Jan Veleba, the president of Agrarian Chamber, would prefer decision on biofuels to be made as soon as possible because postponements endanger the whole program. The Minister of Agriculture Jan Mládek will recommend the government on Wednesday so that a new cabined resolves upon a way of wider introduction of biofuels on Czech market of fuels. Tomáš Loskot, the spokesman of Ministry of Agriculture told it to ČTK today. The government is about to deal with a material containing evaluation of three possibilities to introduce biofuels in the Czech Republic on Wednesday.
Government negotiated information on development of ecological agriculture
The aim of material was to put forward the government a summary of activities and achievement of progress within a realization of the Operational plan for development of ecological agriculture since its adoption in March 2004. In this context the Minister of Agriculture Jan Mládek reported: “Ecological agriculture is one of suitable and welcome alternatives to a common agriculture which is not only economical to environment but also it creates a space for sustainability of employment in the countryside, including by-activities as agritourism, a stay on bio-farms and so on.
Hungarians found out occurrence of bird flu in domestic poultry
Hungarian offices revealed occurrence of bird flu in domestic poultry. According to authorities it is dealt with a highly pathogenic virus H5, however, meanwhile is not clear whether it is the deadly virus H5N1. Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture informed about it today. “It turned out that it is a highly pathogenic kind”, a deputy manager of veterinary administration Lajos Bognár said. The Ministry ordered killing of 300 000 birds, especially ducks and geese in South-East of Hungary where the virus was found out.
Lesy ČR want to advertise tenders for works for all forest land
The state enterprise Lesy České republiky (Forests of the Czech Republic, LČR) which owns about a half of forests in the country wants to advertise selective proceedings in August for works in forests for all its forest land. Tender will keep the law on acceptance of public tenders as the antimonopoly office ordered it to the enterprise in April. Winning firm could start working in forests from July or October 2007. In todays interview for ČTK a new general director of LČT František Koníček who was appointed on Monday, told it.
