Experts: Occurrence of anabaena in water has negative impact on fish

Negative impact not only on people but also on fish is caused by a huge amount of anabaenas which in summer months worsen quality of water in many reservoirs in the whole Czech Republic. Research prove that health-dangerous substances, so called toxins, which are produced by anabaenas deposit in fish body. They can influence development of fish and quality of fish meat as well. Blahoslav Maršálek from the National centre for anabaenas and toxins in Brno said it to journalists today. A huge amount of toxins deposits in digestive organs of fish and in skin; in muscles the amount is about 15 – 20 Percent, he added. “Definitely, I recommend people not to eat entrails and skin of fish cropped in waters with mass occurrence of anabaenas”, Maršálek emphasized.

Fires destroyed almost three hectares of forest in Česká Lípa region

Two forest fires against, which fire brigade fought the whole Thursday in Česká Lípa region, destroyed together almost three hectares of forest and caused hundred-thousand damages. Forest caretakers confirmed it today to ČTK. All 24 hours the fire brigade needed to liquidate a fire of 6,5 hectare of forest in Domašice in Česká Lípa region. They sent there nine units and 12 cisterns in total. The fire hit two gulches separated by an edge, moreover, in very inaccessible rocky terrain with a superelevation as much as 100 meters. “It was not possible to use air technics to extinguish the fire because the gulch is 100 meters deep and grown tree-tops did not enable water dropping”, spokeswoman of the Fire brigade of Liberec region, Iva Michalíčková, said.

Company ŠPVS will pay dividend 155 crowns to shareholders

Šumperk Operational Water-management Company (ŠPCS) will pay to its shareholders gross dividend 155 crown per one-thousand-crown share from last year’s net profit 14,2 million crowns. ČTK obtained the information from announcement of board of the company. Last year the shareholders of ŠPVS got dividend 230 crown par a share. “Decrease of height of dividend more or less copies the yearly decrease of profit.

Demonstration of timber rafting is being prepared in Šumava

This Saturday a sailing season will continue in Schwarzenberk floating channel. Demonstrations of timber rafting are being prepared from 14 hours in Jelení Vrchy near Nová Pec. This year’s already for the second time within a floating demonstration about fifty logs of a half cord long firewood will float in the channel together. Wood will flow more than one kilometer. “The demonstration starts near forester’s lodge in Jelení Vrchy and ends by the stream Hučice. Timber rafling in Růžový Vrch will be possible next week because we still clear windbreaks in forests” shipping manager Hynek Hladík said.
