Eagle returns. Finally!

This is really good news: golden eagle returns in our beautiful country. It avoided it for one entire century. Time to time it wandered off here but it did not nested here. Why? We destroyed it. A rest of Europe boasts of five and half thousand couples of golden eagle. We nothing. It will change. Four real youngs of golden eagle nod in aviaries of Rescue Station for Wild Animals in Bartošovice in Morava. They look a bit funny: as four bundles of regularly drawing breath fluffy feather. Fleshes of cameras did not raise the youngs from their nest. Neither they could: small eagles can not fly yet, they are less then two month old. They watch a photographer with obvious disagreement but without movement.

Šumava park closes for Europe

We, residents and lovers of Šumava, protest against a decision of the administration of National Park Šumava definitely to do not open foot-passenger border crossing Modrý sloup. It is a scandal that the Ministry of Environment as a founder of park already last year promised start of trial operation from July 1, 2006 (the director of NPŠ himself repeated the promise personally on the 11th March 2006). The administration of NPŠ make alibis and refer to a judgement of en expert of NATURA 2000, Professor Bejček, who excluded opening the boundary crossing categorically in each, even in the most considerate, variant due to protection of capercailzies. The municipalities in Czech and Bavarian side have been struggling for opening the traditional boundary crossing Modrý Sloup, closed by communists since 1948, since the year 1992. Ineffectually.

Prague, the 2nd June (ČTK) – Jan Veselý, an executive manager of Czech Beer and Malt Association estimates that domestic beer production increased by four percents roughly to 9,5 million hectoliters in this first half-year. According to him domestic producers succeeded in foreign markets and export should be by about a fifth higher than in the same period last year. Also the production for the Czech Republic which stagnates or slightly decreases in last years rather grew during this half-year, Veselý judges. He added that first of all a favourable weather will show itself invoking thirst of consumers. The manager of Association denies data to estimation for five month of the year when production of domestic breweries increased in comparison with previous year by more than three percents.
