Budvar probably will get mark in China where it does not export meanwhile

Budějovice Budvar is closer by a step to sale of its beer in China. In a contention for registration of trade marks which Budvar leads since 1997 with American brewery Anheuser-Bush, the Czech firm succeeded. Peking court refused actions of Anheuser against a verdict of Chinese Trade Mark and Arbitration Panel. It already last year permitted registration of trade marks Budějovický Budvar in China. ČTK was informed about it by a spokesman of Budvar, Petr Samec. ČTK is finding out the Anheuser’s report. According to the court the trade marks “Budějovický Budvar” are not exchangeable with trade marks “Budweiser” and “Bud” which Anheuser owns in China.

This year’s September again in sign of bio

Already the second year the Month of biofood and ecological agriculture will be celebrated in September, this year with an emphasis on wealth in diversity of ecological farms and their products. Already for second time tens of ecological farms, producers, businessmen and sellers of biofoods in the whole Czech Republic will participate this year in the action September – month of biofood and ecological agriculture. An aim of the project, in frame of which almost 90 actions took place last year in the whole CR and thousands of visitors participated in, is to inform as many people as possible on principles and rules of ecological agriculture, to encourage them to taste biofoods and convince by own eyeball how ecological farmers manage.

UNO received a fragment of promised help for fight with bird flu

International community has released till this time only a fragment from almost 1,9 milliard dollars which it promised for help to developing world to prepare for pandemia of bird flu. Six month after an international conference in Peking 1,15 milliard dollars were earmarked for these purposes but in fact only 331 millions dollars were provided. A coordinator of UNO for fight against bird flu declared it today in Geneva. He stressed that poor countries will definitely need more than 1,9 milliard dollars in future. Bird flu has spread during two years in sixty states.

State of Czech rivers improves

14 very severely polluted stretches of rivers remain in the Czech Republic. It results from report on water quality which was elaborated by the Ministry of Environment. The number of extremely polluted rivers still decreases. The most polluted are little rivers with small flow rate in industrial areas. The report on water quality over last year which the government will hear tomorrow describes extremely high pollution of the river Bílina, Rakovnický stream, Litavka, Lužnice under Veselí nad Lužnicí, Lomnice, and Zákolanský and Bakovský streams. Also some stretches of other little flows remind of a sewer. Also a state of the river Mže under Tachov became worse.
