Czech people can convince themselves how Tatra Mountains revive from their presents

Czech people who are setting off to find out beauty of Tatra Mountains these days can convince by own eyeball how local forests are renewed also by their endeavour. Two years ago the mountains were devastated by destructive windstorm. The ecological Partnership Foundation in Brno organized a gathering in the Czech Republic to help High Tatra in which it obtained 11,5 million crowns. The gathering became the most successful ecological gathering in the republic. Most of collected means have been successfully invested in Slovakian mountains, said the director of the Slovakian Foundation Ekopolis, Peter Medveď, to ČTK yesterday. Both foundations cooperate.

Competition Village of the year knows winner of regional rounds

335 municipalities from the whole republic competed for the title Village 2006 this year.13 winning municipalities from particular regional rounds is progressing in the national-wide round. The national-wide evaluation takes place in term 4.-10. September 2006. “The aim of competition Village 2006 in the Program of countryside renewal is an effort to stimulate rural inhabitants to an active participation in renewal and development of its municipality, to show diversity and variety of the live outside a town, and to prove a significance of the countryside to wide publicity”, the Minister for Local Development, Radko Martínek said.

There will be probably a lack of barley in necessary quality

This year due to unfavourable weather not enough of barley will be harvested in quality needed for malting purposes, said the executive manager of the Czech Malt and Brewery Association, Jan Veselý. According to him it is a question how big the deficit will be because malt plants make tests and ties how to manage even worse quality of a material for example by adjustment of the technological procedure. The Agrarian Chamber claims that there will be a significant lack of standard melting barley.
