Growers of cereals from Olomouc region report unusually low yields

Growers of cereals from traditional grain area in Olomouc region report unusually low yields. Before end of harvest they reach at average 5,02 tons from one hectare. However, according to the local agrarian chamber (AK) final yields obviously will not reach 5 tons in Olomouc region which its management has not remembered for last years. The director of Olomouc AK Miloš Por˙ said to ˙TK today that farmers from Olomouc region have already harvested cereals from 36 852 hectares of fields which represents 97,2 percents of acreage in the former Olomouc district. “Yields are very bad this year. Of course, the cause is July heats and first of all rains in August. From 3rd to 10th August harvest had to be stopped due to them” Por˙ said today.

Tomorrow prime minister will introduce new ministress of agriculture in office

The new Ministress of Agriculture Milena Vicenová will be inaugurated in her function by the Prime Minister of government, Mirek Topolánek, on Tuesday 5th September at 13.40 o’clock. Tomáš Loskot, the press agent of the Ministry informed about it today. He finishes in this function at present.

Ambrozek returns in head of Czech Union of Nature Conservation

Libor Ambrozek who finishes today in the function of Minister of Environment returns in the head of the biggest Czech protectionist organization. During the weekend he was elected for following three years as the chairman of Czech Union of Nature Conservation (‘CSOP) by the nation-wide congress of union in Trutnov. A member of ˙SOP Martin Dušek informed about it ˙TK. Protectionist Ambrozek had already led four years ago till the time when became the minister. Similarly as at present already at that time he was at the same time also a representative of KDU-˙SL.

Pasquale has water empire on edge of monopoly

Antonio Pasquale, seventy-three-year old Italian with Swiss passport – owns and manages Mattoni, Dobrá voda, and since this year’s summer also Pod˙bradka.
