Condition for obtaining KLASA are tightening up

Since the first September the national mark of quality KLASA will be bestowed under new, stricter rules. Vilém Fr˙ek from the press department of State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SZIF) informed about it. According to him the most significant change is a requirement of qualitative characteristics above standard which products will have to declare at least in one attribute. In the future thanks to this condition the mark KLASA should be bestowed only to food products which are at qualitatively higher level in comparison with similar, on market readily available products. “By tightening up rules for bestowing of the mark KLASA we wanted to react on growing requirements within evaluation of quality by consumers themselves”, Jan Höck, the director of SZIF explains.

Antimonopoly office permits fusion of pork butchers

The Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) allowed acquisition of investment group J &T on market with meat products. A spokesman of ÚOHS Kristián Chalupa informed about it today and added that the mentioned group can on base of decision of the Office obtain by means of ˙eskomoravský uzená˙ský podnik a control over firms KMOTR-Masna Krom˙˙í˙ a.s., Vyso˙ina, a.s., and Krahulík-MASOZÁVOD Krahul˙í. Firms KMOTR-Masna Krom˙˙í˙ a.s. and Vyso˙ina, a.s have belonged under British Wallter Company Limited and operates similarly as MASOZÄVOD Krahul˙í in area of meat products. Production program of mentioned firms creates a comprehensive assortment of meat products as knockwursts, frankurters, soft and durable sausages, hams and smoked meats.

Storm Ernesto is losing force

Tropical storm Ernesto is approaching the coast of America. Florida already suffers from heavy rains. According to meteorologists the storm rather weakens and does not fulfill apprehensions that it could change again in hurricane. Despite of that it has already required two people’s life. After fifth o’clock the center of storm got about 100 kilometers south-west by south from Miami and moved towards north-north-west at speed of about 13 kilometers in hour. Most force Ernesto lost on Tuesday above mountains of east Cuba and speed of its winds during night in passage above Florida channel moved maximally to 72 kilometers in hour.

Investment of Russian agricultural bank in developing projects

Russian agricultural bank produces 20 billion RUB for this year to support project of agricultural development, mostly in form of credits for agricultural companies and private farmers. The project financing should continue till 2009. Russian agricultural is about to continue till 2009. Russian agricultural bank Rosselchozbank invests in 2006 in agri-industrial branch 25 bil. RUB. A representative of the bank, Jurij Trušin, announced it during parliamentary audition in Federal Council on national program of Russian agriculture development.
