Government approved endowmentless support of bio-fuels production

A proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture for support of bio-fuels production in CR without a return premium of consumption tax and other endowments was approved by the CR government at today’s negotiation. Hugo Roldán, the communication director of the Ministry of Agriculture CR (MZe) confirmed it. From a report propound to the government for negotiation it results that “main reasons for choosing this variant is its simplicity and transparentness. It will contribute, besides dropping out tedious notification process, to faster solution of use of bio-fuels on the Czech Republic market, and further a harmony with assumed future development of policy of bio-fuels-use in the whole European Union on base of principles given by the Operational EU plan for biomass. For this reason this variant was evaluated by the European Commission in frame of technical consultations as the most acceptable.

Trichinella in boars after three years again in the CR

Huntswoman from East-Bohemian region acted right when in accordance with veterinary legislative sent shot boar for examination of presence of larvae of nematode Trichinella spiralis. As today Josef Duben, the spokesman of State Veterinary Association, informed, the suspicion was confirmed. It means that the meat must not be use for people consumption. A similar case was reported last time in a boar three years ago.

Minister of Environment Kalaš does not feel to be bound to ODS program

The Minister of Environment, who started his function fortnights ago, introduced his priorities in the office. The main problem is, according Petr Kalaš, quality of air and climatic changes. A concrete task which the non-partial minister will have to solve is above all the National operational plan for years 2008-2012. Petr Kalaš introduced also new deputies of his office. “I would like to concentrate first of all on those areas which have the biggest impact on people’s health and life quality”, he said at today’s press conference. The new minister considers as the main problematic areas contributing to climatic changes and polluting air transport and energetics.

Neither less harvest nor high quality should influence price of grapes this year

Grape harvest started in the South Moravia this week. Despite the fact that the harvest will be in comparison with a long-term average by a quarter lower, will be of first quality. Sugar content in just harvested varieties reaches 20 kilograms per 100 liters of grape juice which corresponds with attributive vines. Neither less harvest nor high quality should reflect in price of grapes. Increased demand will be replaced by cheap import from abroad, said a secretary of the Vine-Growers Association, Martin Půček. According to him the average price per kilogram of inland grapes will be this year about eleven crowns per kilogram which is the same as last year. In the European Union’s countries, where there is for long time 10-percent overproduction of table vines, prices moves below ten crowns per kilo, noticed the secretary of the Association.
