Greens will propose zero consumption tax on bio-fuels

In dealing with the amendment of act on consumption taxes the Green Party will propose a zero tax on bio-fuels. According to the chairman of the party, Martin Bursík, it is enabled by a European regulation on energies. The Greens want to put forward the proposal in Parliament by two weeks. Bursík announced it in the TV Nova program Nedělní partie today. He supposes that the Greens will get support for their proposal. “Everybody realizes that it is unbearable so that the Czech Republic set off towards reduction of bio-fuels when the whole Europe goes towards support of bio-fuels”, he said.

Limitation of production dimension is compensated by growing imports

The Agricultural Association of the CR together with other nongovernmental organizations of farmers is against discrimination of new member countries which breaks the very principles of membership in the European Union. “All the time we are endangered by limitation of production dimension and increase of imports. Agrarian import will reach about 105 billion crowns this year; from it over the period after accession into the EU it will grow by about 30 billion crowns. Our annual Association estimations of agrarian balance and agricultural production for the year 2006 confirm it. Negative agrarian balance will be also record; it will reach c. 33 billion crowns”, said the chairman of Agricultural Association of the CR Miroslav Jirovský at a meeting of committee and control commission in Větrný Jeníkov this week.

State Environmental Fund has new director

The Minister of Environment Petr Kalaš entrusted František Krejčí with managing of the State Environmental Fund (SFŽP). The spokeswoman of the Ministry of Environment CR (MŽP) Karolína Šůlová informed on it. According to her at the same time the Minister call out of the function the present fund director Andrej Mudray. Krejčí will manage the fund until finishing of a standard selective procedure for this function.

According to municipalities rural development does not concern just agriculture

An abstract of article by Eva Maruvá from the Association of towns and municipalities. In 2007-2013 especially small municipalities will face big changes. The Ministry of Agriculture CR prepares its endowment Program of Rural Development based on European and state endowments for municipalities. The interest of mayors in how financial means for rural development will be threat with in the Czech Republic in 2007-2013 stems from a necessity to ensure so that people not only stay in our countryside but also come to live here. So that there were available public services; so that people can easily commute at work or had the opportunity to work directly in the municipality; so that life in the countryside was comfortable. However, interest of mayors in these money stems also from experience from the years 2004-2006 which can be understood as a certain „training period“.
