LČR will try certification system FSC

In connection to approval of Czech standard FSC the company Lesy České Republiky (LČR) has decided to verify this certification system. The spokesman of LČR Tomáš Vyšohlíd informed about it today and added that the pivotal project will run in one organization unit. The company Lesy ČR has been for several years a holder of forests certificate according to the system PEFC on area of almost 100 percent of forests managed by the LČR. “Pivotal verification of the system FSC will enable to compare objectively both these systems in practice”, said the production-technical director of LČR Vladimír Krchov.

Egg checks have not proved their origin from breeding non-keeping principles of feeding

A suspicion that some eggs traded in the CR come from breeding where they use mixtures with content of forbidden meat and bone meal for feeding has not been confirmed, according to investigation of the State Veterinary Association of the CR (SVS). Josef Duben, the spokesman of SVS informed on it today. “Since it was dealt with a declared accusation on base of unofficially taken sample of feeding mixture from this year February, this “case” can be hardly solved as actual. Despite that SVS examined all available facts in a feed-mixing room which should have had something common with the “case”. The spokesman reported that mistakes on base of which a suspicion could arise were found out neither in samples nor in documentation.

Well, we like to remember it” , claims Václav Šilhavý, the director of Czech Fish Farmers Association, which collects basic information from production firms. Last year production reached 20 455 tons; traditionally the biggest share 17 840 tons fell on carps. More than a half of it, 9 295 tons, was sold in abroad.
