Ministress of Agriculture does not agree with steps of LCR director

The Ministress of Agriculture Milena Vicenová handed over a letter to the General Manager of Lesy CR František Koníček on 14th September with a strong recommendation so that he does not close any contracts without a prior negotiation with the founder of the state enterprice, which is the Ministry of Agriculture, which would oblige in any way the state enterprise for the future. The communication director of Ministry of Agriculture CR (MZe) Hugo Roldán informed on it today. “Despite this recommendation I have found out that the general manager opened two selective procedures for press and medial services in total height of 250 million crowns without any information of me”, Vicenová specified.

Czech firm wants to come through with telescopic PET bottle

Ota Mušálek started to be so annoyed with unstorable and non-crumpleable PET bottles of beverages three years ago that he decided to think up himself a telescopic bottle. „I solved a personal problem at home how to get rid of PETs, so I started to think of way to press it“, he describes. After a year and half he came to a functioning result which a Czech firm Max Drinks enter last year. It wants to come through with a bottle „a la harmonica“ in big and small shops and offer the bottle in licence to other beverage producers. The advantage of the new bottle is mainly that it is possible to press it to a quarter of original size. Then it does not take so much space in transport which should make cheaper its recycling.

Greenpeace protested against inactivity of Jakarta after silt burst

Today activists of Greenpeace, the organization for environment protection, dropped 700 kilograms of silt in front of a building of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs as a protest against government´s inactivity in solution of an ecological disaster in a province East Java. Hot silt started tu burst out from gas borehole in May. Till this time it has flooded several villages and deprived 10 000 people of lodging. The Minister of Public works shortly after the Greenpeace´s protest announced a government measure for the afflicted. Although the government was against it at first, not it decided that the silt will be drained in the sea.

Ministry of Environment welcomes ecological rules for management in inland forests (TZ MŽP)

The Ministry of Environment has welcomed passing FSC standards for ecologically and socially considerate management in forests. It reacts so to today´s press report of the Work group for forest certification in the CR which informs on approval of the ecological rules. „Concerning damages of forests by pollutions the Czech Republic belongs among the most afflicted countries of Europe. The problem is also unsuitable species composition which changes very slowly. The voluntary rules for ecologically and socially considerate management are the way to help the forests. I believe that also consumers will appreciate that they can buy wood origination from considerately managed forests“, comments František Pojer, the vice-Minister of Environment for conservation of nature the approval of rules.
