Polish supplier bring to the CR other unhealthy eggs
Other ten-thousands of eggs from Poland, which do not fulfill hygienic norms, are in the Czech Republic. The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) forbid to a trade chain Kaufland sale of 70 200 such eggs several days ago. However, as TV Nova reported today other supply has come to Kaufland from Polish supplier. The Inspection knows about the supply already and is going to check it. The shop Kaufland offered the unhealthy eggs in Prague 4. “Egg shells were contaminated with hen dropping or egg content; a part of them was cracked ”, said Daniela Kolejková, the spokeswoman of the Inspection. Unhealthy hen eggs of trademark Best Farm in package at 30 pieces with date of minimal expiration date the 17th October have been withdrawn from sale by Kaufland but empty shelves were again fill up with eggs from Poland.
First bio-ethanol from sugar beet will be produced till the end of week
New distillery in premises of the sugar refinery in Dobrovice in Mladá Boleslav region counts on that it will open a new production of bio-ethanol from sugar beet. By the year end they want to produce almost 200 thousand hectoliters. The management plans that it will employ about thirty workers. Bio-ethanol will be produced by a newly established stock joint company Agroetanol TTD which belongs to the inland sugar refinery group Cukrovary TTD, a general managed of the firm, Oldřich Reinbergr, said. The company Cukrovary TTD prepares building of a smaller distillery also in its second sugar refinery in České Meziříčí in Rychnov region. Its building could start in the autumn 2007. However, as Reinbergr said, this investment intention has to be still approved by stock-holders.
Hauls will start at the end of October in South Moravia; there will be enough carps
South-Moravian fishermen expect roughly the same fares this year as the last year. Also prices should not differ considerably from the last year’s ones. Even cost for petrol and energy will probably reflect in them. It results from today’s inquiry of ČTK among ponds operators. Most of them agreed on the fact that it is dealt with only rough guess. Hauls of main ponds with market fish will start at the end of October. “This year’s harvest according to test hauls certainly will not be below average and we are satisfied with it. Excepting the hard winter the weather was favourable for breeding”, said a director of Rybářství Hodonín, Radek Čučka, to ČTK today.
CR examined million pieces of cattle for BSE; 24 animals were infected
Since the beginning of 2001 the Czech Republic has examined for the disease of mad cows (BSE) a million pieces of cattle. 24 animals were infected whereas the last case appeared at the end of January in Svitava region. Josef Duben, the spokesman of the State Veterinary Administration said it to ČTK today. According to him, the number of cases obviously culminated last year similarly as in other member states and the occurrence could gradually get thin. Nevertheless, finding of other infected animals can not be excluded, he added. The first piece of cattle infected with BSE was found out by vets in the Czech Republic in 2001. Last year the most cases were diagnosed – eight. The State Veterinary Administration after occurrence of BSE in the CR ordered to examine all slaughtered cattle older than 30 months of age. Till then only risky groups of animals have been tested.
