Market asks more products

Consumers´ demand for milk bio-products grows in Germany, France, the Great Britain and this trend is expected also in our republic. “Generally a purchase of bio-foods in the Czech Republic increases. It is necessary to complete assortment with other products. A space on the market exists which evidences import from Austria and Germany”, said Petr Trávníček from the union Pro-Bio. For example news on his web page announces that a week sale of milk in Germany increased from 350 thousand liters in August last year to 1,4 million liters in August this year which corresponds to fourfold growth during five years.

Premier confirmed twice will to full evening up of direct payments

The Premier Mirek Topolánek confirmed repeatedly on Sunday the 15th October at a negotiation with representatives of non-governmental agricultural organizations that the Government CR and the Ministry of Agriculture is about to fulfill its promise and wants to even up maximally direct payments to farmers for the year 2007. The secretary of Association of Private Agriculture CR (ASZ) Jaroslav Šebek informed on it today. According to him the chairman of ASZ Stanislav Němec negotiated on the same topic with Topolánek already on Thursday the 12th October and also the Premier said at this negotiation that “a significant part of missing means has already been earmarked and other possibilities to secure other financial means are searched intensively.”

CR will give 40 million CZK next year to beat salmonellas in poultry farms

Roughly about 40 million crowns should go next year from the state budget to for measures which will lead to decrease of salmonella occurrence in hen breedings producing consumption eggs. As reported the Ministry of Agriculture, a hearth of program will be vaccination which should concern seven million layers next year. The Czech Republic will open the program against the mentioned bacteria one year earlier than the European Commission obliges to the EU member states. According to former data salmonella was found out in the CR in environment in about 62 percent poultry farms.

Kofola wants to gain control of producer of lemonade Klimo in Klatovy

The producer of non-alcoholic beverages Kofola from Krnov wants to overrule the company Klimo in Klatovy, one of three the largest Czech producers of private beverage marks for trade chains. Owners of the firms have already signed a contract on fusion; now they wait for an opinion of the Office for Protection of Competition. A spokesman of Kofola Martin Klofanda informed on it. Kofola wants to relocate a part of production in Klatovy and thus to react to a growing demand for its products. “ Expansion in form of purchase of a producer, already operating on market, is ideal for us before we can release a capacity of lines in a short time horizon”, the general director of company René Sommer.
